A DIFFERENT KIND OF WORD WORK
Three categories.
One alphabet. Your move.
Find a combination that fits. There’s more than one way to win—and every letter gets just one turn.
- Press Start. Your three categories appear and the clock begins.
- Enter an answer in each row. Pick any accepted answer from that category’s list.
- Use each letter at most once. That includes repeats inside a word and repeats between answers. You can leave letters unused.
- Finish automatically. When all three answers are valid and share no letters, your time stops. No submit button needed.
For animal, fruit, and color categories, these three answers fit together without repeating a letter. APPLE would not work: it uses P twice.
A few useful details
Spaces, apostrophes, and hyphens do not use a letter. Accents are normalized. An answer can belong to a category and still be unusable because it repeats a letter.
The clock keeps running if you switch tabs, reload, or open help. Your first completed time is saved in this browser. These are personal records, not verified leaderboard scores.
A fresh daily. A growing archive.
Everyone gets the same edition at midnight Pacific time. Yesterday’s puzzle moves into Previous dailies. Archive puzzles keep their own progress and times.
Wondering about an answer?
Categories use published answer lists with defined sources and scopes. They do not include every possible real-world answer. Explore the answer library to see accepted playable spellings.
